To me, trying out a new snare (or any instrument, in fact) is a ritual that I thoroughly enjoy and I believe that the process is crucial in making sure I am getting the right gear for the sound I want to achieve. This peculiar collection of snare drums that we have put together for you is completely out of the ordinary! Inspired by our EFX cymbals post, this time, we bring you the snare drum version of the weird and wonderful!
We believe that you can never have “too many” sounds to play with. Having a broad palette of textures and tones to choose from allows you more options when needed. A secondary snare is useful as a back-up, for recording and just because it can sound damn cool when you need it to!
Again, please note, that all the snare drums below have not been placed in any particular order as it is completely subjective as to which is better for certain applications. The only way to be sure that it’s the one for you is to play it before you buy!
